For the first-ever time, four female athletes competed in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series last weekend (13th & 14th July), at the beautiful but sweltering location of Lake Garda,\u00a0<\/strong>Italy.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Germany\u2019s, Anna Bader gave both the crowd and judges a show-stopping performance, wowing them with her\u00a0aesthetic tricks off a 20m platform,\u00a0positioned on the centuries-old walls of the Scaliger Castle.
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

Anna took first place, telling\u00a0Red Bull<\/a>:
\n\u201cIt feels amazing \u2013 I\u2019m very happy with my dives. It was a fantastic start for us to be part of this competition and I really enjoyed diving with the other girls. I was nervous but in a very positive way and the crowd gave you great support. I hope we can get more women involved in this sport \u2013 and that it\u2019s the platform for more competitions. I\u2019m looking forward now to watching the men and getting inspired!\u201c\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

America’s\u00a0Ginger Huber took second position while fellow American, Tara Hyer-Tira completed the podium. Canadian diver Stephanie De Lima came in fourth. \u00a0Well done ladies…<\/p>\n

Over to the men, \u00a0and American diver David Colturi. David entertained 18,000 spectators, as he free fell from an intimidating 27m platform on Sunday, taking him to his first-ever Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series win. \u00a0Colturi beat fellow American and friend, Steven LoBue\u00a0\u00a0by\u00a0just 2.40 points!\u00a0England\u2019s Gary Hunt took third.<\/p>\n

On his win, David told Red Bull:
\n“It couldn’t have happened at a better time or in a better way,” said 24-year-old Colturi. “For my girlfriend to be here, for Steve to be second in this amazing place in Malcesine, on Lake Garda, it’s just a dream come true. You’re never going to win a Red Bull Cliff Diving event without hitting all four dives and that’s been my goal to put together a full list. I’ve had a couple of good ones, like in Boston last year, but it’s finally come together. I’ve got a new dive down too and there’s more to come!”<\/em><\/p>\n
