En la antigua Grecia, Hip\u00f3crates fabric\u00f3 balones con pieles de animales para la rehabilitaci\u00f3n de pacientes. El nombre procede de un sentido diferente de la palabra \u201cmedicina\u201d que significaba salud.<\/p>\n<p>Usado normalmente en rehabilitaci\u00f3n, el bal\u00f3n medicinal es una herramienta muy vers\u00e1til que puedes usar en muchos ejercicios diferentes. Tambi\u00e9n resulta \u00fatil para aumentar las cargas en los entrenamientos con ni\u00f1os. El tama\u00f1o suele ser el de un bal\u00f3n de baloncesto (aunque los hay m\u00e1s grandes y m\u00e1s peque\u00f1os) y el peso va de un kilo a 10\/12 kilos.<\/p>\n<p>Por norma general no hay sesiones de entrenamiento en las que se use exclusivamente el bal\u00f3n medicinal, sino que se recurre a \u00e9l en ejercicios espec\u00edficos. Por ejemplo, su empleo es muy com\u00fan en el entrenamiento de fuerza, tan importante para los nadadores. El bal\u00f3n medicinal sirve muchas veces para continuar reforzando el mismo grupo muscular que hemos trabajado en el ejercicio anterior. Tambi\u00e9n es frecuente encontrarlo en circuitos de entrenamiento que incorporan ejercicios propios de la nataci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Los balones medicinales intervienen sobre todo en los ejercicios donde levantamos el peso del cuerpo, y como su uso implica una sobrecarga de peso, conviene tomar precauciones.<\/p>\n<p>Vamos a ver unos cuantos ejercicios para los grupos musculares implicados en la nataci\u00f3n. Se pueden realizar en una \u00fanica serie o en combinaci\u00f3n con otro ejercicio.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Torsi\u00f3n del tronco en posici\u00f3n sedente con las piernas levantadas<\/strong> \u2013 sentados en el suelo, empezad por doblar las piernas y levantar los pies del suelo a la vez que se tensan los m\u00fasculos del abdomen. En esa posici\u00f3n, con el bal\u00f3n medicinal en las manos, girad el tronco a la izquierda y luego a la derecha, tocando el suelo con el bal\u00f3n junto a las caderas \u2013 3\/4 series de 10 giros por lado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\" style=\"position: relative; padding-bottom: 56.25%; padding-top: 30px; height: 0; overflow: hidden;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qi5GG5gVigw\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Press de pecho sentados o tumbados<\/strong> \u2013 empieza en una posici\u00f3n u otra, sujetando el bal\u00f3n junto al pecho, y despu\u00e9s da impulso con los brazos para lanzar el bal\u00f3n contra la pared o hacia el techo (con la ayuda de otra persona) tan deprisa como puedas. Despu\u00e9s, vuelve a coger el bal\u00f3n y repite &#8211; 3\/4 series de 10 repeticiones.
