Abbiamo leggermente diminuito il volume a sessioni di nuoto di circa 10-16 chilometri svolte ad un ritmo ragionevole, diciamo in quinta come velocit\u00e0 di crociera, per usare una metafora automobilistica, ma abbiamo aggiunto delle sessioni di 8-10 chilometri a ritmo pi\u00f9 alto, come se fossimo in seconda o in terza, cercando di mantenere una media di 1:50 minuti per 100 metri per 10-12 chilometri durante le sessioni mattutine.<\/p>\n<p>Oltre a tutto questo ci sono state le sessioni di core stability in palestra, chiaramente una volta tornati nella pi\u00f9 fresca Inghilterra, dove mi sto riprendendo dall\u2019allenamento fatto in Florida, in cui gli squali, le meduse e le reali condizioni dell\u2019oceano mi avevano spinto al limite: \u00e8 dura, davvero dura. Rotazioni e allungamenti per le spalle, plank per gli addominali (sia frontali che laterali), torsioni e stretching tutti i giorni ed esercizi con gli elastici per gomiti, braccia e spalle tre volte a settimana. Non voglio mentirvi, sono veramente al limite. Dolore, sudore e lacrime: \u00e8 sempre pi\u00f9 difficile, ma io non mi arrendo.<\/p>\n<p>Con un consumo di 7500 calorie al giorno, questo viaggio continua ad essere durissimo, ma mi d\u00e0 grandi soddisfazioni. Soprattutto perch\u00e9 la nostra imbarcazione \u00e8 pronta, continuiamo a fare interventi nelle scuole e la settimana del 15 giugno avremo tre scuole del Gloucestershire che parteciperanno ad una settimana di nuoto di fondo e gare per raccogliere fondi a scopo benefico e per la nostra impresa, con il supporto dei prodotti Arena messi in palio come premi!<\/p>\n<p>Al di l\u00e0 di questo torner\u00f2 a Key West, in Florida, ad allenarmi duramente con i miei squali e la mia squadra di salvataggio Nekton: ci stiamo preparando per una grande evento di nuoto tra la fine di luglio e l\u2019inizio di agosto. Nel frattempo continuo ad assumere 7500 calorie al giorno durante le settimane di allenamento e attualmente sto sperimentando i frullati come rifornimento durante le nuotate. In una bottiglia di frullato metto pi\u00f9 o meno questo:<\/p>\n<p>1 misurino di burro di arachidi<\/p>\n<p>1 banana<\/p>\n<p>1 misurino di cioccolata spalmabile<\/p>\n<p>25 grammi di proteine del siero di latte<\/p>\n<p>500 ml di acqua e latte (proporzione 1 a 2)<\/p>\n<p>(Naturalmente ci sono sessioni in cui ho bisogno anche di altre due borracce per l\u2019idratazione, oltre ai frullati)<\/p>\n<p>Ci sono giorni in cui mi chiedo cosa sto facendo, soprattutto quando le spalle e la parte bassa della schiena mi fanno cos\u00ec male che vorrei gridare, o quando mi sento talmente nauseato dal burro di arachidi e dalle otto ore in una piscina piena di cloro, oppure, da un punto di vista mentale, quando vorrei soltanto prendermi un giorno di riposo da tutto questo. E\u2019 una continua battaglia, ma poi vedo mia figlia cos\u00ec emozionata, i bambini delle scuole locali increduli ed eccitatissimi quando scoprono quello che sto per fare e la portata dei risultati che posso raggiungere in termini di beneficenza, dato che spero di raccogliere un milione di sterline\u2026e capisco che posso farcela! Ce la far\u00f2 e non importa quale sfida affronti, che sia nuotare un metro, un chilometro o una maratona: puoi farcela anche tu!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSoltanto un uomo che conosce la sconfitta pu\u00f2 toccare il fondo della sua anima e risalire con quel grammo di forza in pi\u00f9 che serve a vincere quando la partita \u00e8 in parit\u00e0\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Fra pochissimo torner\u00f2 a Key West, in Florida, al sole, al mare e agli allenamenti.
