As the Eindhoven Swim Cup came to an end yesterday, Technical Director Jacco Verhaeren presented the 13 Dutch swimmers qualified to swim this year in Barcelona. On his golden thirteen, Jacco commented…. ” These swimmers have qualified because they all have a great chance to race in the finals of the World Championships. It’s a fantastic team and we are going to Barcelona with great confidence.”
The weekend’s swimming in Eindhoven (4th-7th April) saw Sweden’s Sarah Sjostrom shine gold on more than one occasion, as she won the 100m fly and the 200m free. Sarah also took gold in the 100m free just ahead of Ranomi Kromowidjojo, who in turn pipped Sarah to first position earlier on in the week, in the 50m free….
2013 is proving to be a good year for Britain’s Hannah Miley, as she won both the 400m free and 400im events, earning herself the top prize (based on points) at the Swim Cup.
Well done Hannah!
Hungary’s Zsuzsanna Jakabos simply rocked Holland’s Pieter van den Hoogenband Pool, as she beat Hannah Miley to gold in the 200m medley, while ADN swimmer Evgeny Korotyshkin also put in a great performance, finishing just behind Sweden’s Simon Sjödino, to take silver in the 100m fly.
Thank you all for keeping us entertained….
