Istanbul, Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th December – The weekend’s swimming was fantastic! Mads Glaesner swam his way to become the New World 1500m (SC) Champion, in what was the closest and most exciting race of the weekend. Creating more buzz than Lightyear, Mads commented, “I feel great right now, I’m happy about the race.”
To infinity and beyond….
Radoslaw Kawecki was also ‘white hot’, as he won the men’s 200m backstroke, just ahead of the USA’s , Ryan Lochte. On his race, Radoslaw smiled, and said, ” I’m really happy with the race. I knew I had to beat Lochte, and this gave me a lot of energy and power…I recognized that we both shared the same tactic, which was to be quick in the final 50 metres, but I was faster out of the turns.“
Fran was back on form, collecting silver in the women’s 50m free. In an emotional interview, which had our Cristina in tears, Fran mentioned, “It feels really good to get a medal again… I had a bit of a confident knock after the Olympics, and questioned whether I was a good enough swimmer..”
You are an excellent swimmer Fran, our only complaint is that we would like to see you back in pink!
Another silver medal for Laszlo, and this time in the men’s 200m fly. We think the silver works great against the blue jammers. Whilst on the topic of fashion, thank you once again Lotte Friis, on your nail art… We are fully aware that it’s all about the details, and you never fail to miss out on them!
