Wednesday  12th December  saw the start of the FINA World (25m) Swimming Championships in Istanbul.

Announced by the European Union as the ‘2010 European Capital of Culture’, Turkey’s largest city  is as vibrant and unique as the people that inhabit it….

The lively, colourful appeal of Istanbul  seemed to rub off on the athletes, with many wearing (namely arena) stylish,  brightly coloured swimsuits and contrasting coloured goggles and swim caps…

Paul Biedermann  was no exception. The German was seen in eye-catching blue  one moment, and then green the next.  Both colours worked excellently against his  shiny new silver medal, which he won in the men’s 200m free….

Whilst on the subject of style, no one can criticize Britain’s Hannah Miley. Hannah is no fashion victim, she knows  gold is the colour for her!  So, congratulations  Hannah, on your 400m Individual Medley win, your impeccable style and did we forget to mention, beating an Olympic World Champion…. 🙂

We would like to leave you with a selection of the day’s best moments, caught on camera by our fantastic photographer, Gianmattia Dalberto  …

We hope you enjoy them!
